Medical journal says that DHA health care function is exaggerated

Twenty-two carbon has been acid called DHA, is an unsaturated fatty acids, abundant in the brain. According to reports published in October this year, "Journal of the American Medical Association," a study on the disclosure, including more than 2,000 women in a randomized trial found that taking DHA supplements does not cause the mother's decline in the level of postpartum depression, or to their children in early childhood cognitive and language development improved.
The survey was pilot maternity hospitals for 2399 women in Australia to start. In 2005 and 2008 enrolled in trials, these people are at least 21 weeks of pregnancy. One group received fish oil capsules rich in DHA (800 mg daily DHA). The control group received the same amount of vegetable oil without DHA capsules.
Study found that 6 months postpartum, women's high degree of depressive symptoms in each group no significant differences in the incidence of: taking DHA supplements has 9.67% in the incidence of women taking placebo 11.19% of the women. In the two groups, before or now diagnosed with women suffering from postpartum depression, depression is more common. Two groups of infants and young children, the average composite score of cognitive or language differences were not evident. Including adverse reactions, including serious adverse reactions or less the same phenomenon. The study questioned taking DHA supplements during pregnancy benefits. Compared with placebo, DHA supplementation did not reduce symptoms of postpartum depression, nor to promote the child's cognitive or language development. The researchers eventually concluded as follows: the daily test results do not support women taking DHA supplements.
